DESERT CHEER ATHLETIX BOOSTER CLUB BY-LAWS
ARTICLE 1: NAME
The organization shall be known as the Desert Cheer Athletix Booster Club (DCABC).
ARTICLE 2: PURPOSE
The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the welfare and objectives of the Desert Cheer Athletix Cheer and Dance Teams by providing financial assistance through fund-raising projects to further the operational and educational activities of the Desert Cheer Athletix Cheer & Dance Teams and its Coaches.
This organization shall promote a congenial relationship among the membership, cheerleaders, coaches, and the community in general.
This organization shall also provide for activities that the membership shall suggest and approve, in accordance with United States All Star Federation (USASF) and American Association of Cheerleading Coaches and Advisors (AACCA) guidelines.
ARTICLE 3: MEMBERSHIP
All parents and legal guardians of the members of the Desert Cheer Athletix Cheer and Dance Teams will be members of this organization during the time that their children are part of the organization. Membership entitles each family to attend each scheduled meeting and gives them one vote per family.
ARTICLE 4: FINANCING
Club expenses shall be defrayed by donations and contributions. Projects to raise funds will be voted on by the membership and will be sanctioned by the Executive Board prior to the event.
ARTICLE 5: OFFICERS
Officers of the organization shall be elected for a period of twelve months from the last membership meeting in April until the last meeting in April of the following year.

The officers shall constitute the Executive Board.
The Executive Board stands as the governing body of the booster club.
The Executive Board shall conduct such business as necessary to implement and expedite all actions called for by vote of the club.
No obligation or fund-raising event shall be assumed by any member for said organization without the approval of the Executive Board.
The Executive Board shall meet as it deems necessary to conduct the day to day business of the club. All actions taken shall be reported to the general membership monthly.
Duties of officers:
President:
- Presides at all executive board meeting and at all the general and special meetings
- Appoints committee chairman as required
- Act as ex-officio member of all committees except the nominating committee
Vice–President:
- Assist the President in all matters as required
- Assumes responsibilities of the President in the absence of the President or at the President’s request. In the event of a vacancy in the office of President will assume the role of President
Secretary:
- Keeps accurate records of all club meetings.
- Handles all necessary correspondence
- Notifies all parties of the meetings, special or regular
- Keeps a membership list for voting purposes
- Keeps a current phone list and e-mail address list; updates it as needed
- Takes care of thank you notes
- Does monthly or as needed newsletter via e-mail or mail to all members
Treasurer:
- Is responsible for the collection of any funds/donations from the booster club members.
- Is responsible for the receiving, accurate recording and disbursing of all funds, including source and amount.
- Submits all bills to the executive board and disburses funds as directed and approved by the executive board.
- All checks shall require two signatures. Treasurers signature must always be on check and the other signature can be either the Presidents or the Vice-presidents.
- Shall co-sign with the President all written contracts and statements of financial obligation of the organization as authorized by the membership.
- Shall make a financial report to the club at each meeting,
- Books shall be audited by an audit committee to be appointed by the President at the clubs March meeting to present the report at April’s regular meeting.
- Upon expiration of his/her office the treasurer shall transfer all properties of the office to the successor..
- The president and treasurer shall be authorized to discharge any financial obligations incurred by the club in carrying out a project approved by the membership.
- In the event of a vacancy in the office the president will appoint a new treasurer from the general membership.
Board Members:
- Shall assist the President, Vice President, Secretary & Treasurer in any matters as required
Responsibilities of All Executive Board Members
1. Shall assist with submission of important accomplishments to area newspapers and magazines.
2. Seek out opportunities in the community to increase fundraising opportunities.
3. Seek out opportunities in the community to increase awareness about our organization.
4. Seek out opportunities in the community to demonstrate and educate the public of the benefits of All-Star Cheerleading and Dance
5. Promote the benefits of Athletic Achievement through Cheerleading and Dance through College Scholarships.
ARTICLE 6: SPECIAL COMMITTEES
All special committees shall be appointed by the President.
